UN Report Blames Saudi Arabia ,UAE for War Crimes in Yemen

The United Nations group of Experts, asked to investigate the violations in Yemen, issued its first report, in which there is a clear and direct indictment of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and mercenaries financed by the Coalition of Aggression against Yemen for acts amounting to war crimes.

The 41-page report confirms that coalition air strikes caused most direct civilian casualties. "They targeted residential areas, markets, funerals, weddings, detention facilities, civilian boats and even medical facilities."

The Group of Experts, for reasonable grounds, has believed that the UAE, Saudi Arabia and mercenaries in Yemen are responsible for human rights violations, including the unlawful deprivation of the right to life, arbitrary detention, rape, torture, ill-treatment, enforced disappearances and children recruitment.

Regarding the land, sea and air siege imposed on Yemen by the US-Saudi aggression, the UN report said that the Saudi-led coalition "imposed severe sea and air restrictions in Yemen and to varying degrees since March 2015". Closing Sana'a airport is a violation of international humanitarian law to protect the patients and the injured and may be considered as international crimes," it said.
