The Historic City of Bishapur - Iran

Shapur the 1st was the 2nd Sassanian ruler and commissioned the construction of many monuments, statues, and bas-reliefs in this land. Naturally, since the province of Fars was the birthplace of the Sassanian kings, many of the monuments and complexes were built in this region. Join us as we pay a visit to one of these historic complexes known as “Bishapur” or “the beautiful city of Shapur.”

Bishapur Palace City South of Iran

Bishapur was an ancient city in Iran on the ancient road between Persis and Elam. The road linked the Sassanid capitals Estakhr (very close to Persepolis) and Ctesiphon. It is located south of modern Faliyan in the Kazerun County of Fars Province, Iran.
