Illumination: A Unique Iranian Art

Tazhib (gilding) is an Arabic word which has been derived from “zahab” meaning “gold”. Gilding currently means to draw beautiful patterns of plants or geometrical shapes on the margins of books.

Tehran is already an exciting place to be in. This Huge metropolis becomes even more exciting when its hidden treasures and attractions are discovered and delved into. We visited the center for traditional Iranian art affiliated to Iran's culture ministry; a place where a perfect collection of exquisite and in some case forgotten artworks are created in their most perfect form by seasoned Iranian master artists.
