Tent-Burning Ceremony in Ashura in Tehran

Concurrent with Day of Ashura (marking the tenth day of Muharram that Imam Hussein (AS) and 72 of his true companions martyred in the Battlefield of Karbala, the symbolic tent-burning ceremony was held on Thursday Sept. 20 in Imam Hossein (AS) Square in Tehran in the presence of scores of enthusiasts and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt.

Imam Hussein’s Mourning Ceremony At President’s Office

The mourning ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS) was held on Monday at President’s office, with Dr Hassan Rouhani taking part. In the ceremony that was held before noon, a number of ministers and vice-presidents, as well as personnel also attended. After the mourning ceremony, noon and afternoon prayers were led by Dr Hassan Rouhani.

Al Khalifa Forces Removing Ashura Displays

With this year’s Ashura commemorations just around the corner, Bahraini security forces are once again engaging in the forcible removal of all displays associated with the occasion.
