Agricultural Products in Birjand - Iran

South Khorasan Province is Iran's largest producer of barberries and saffron. Pomegranates are also among the main agricultural products of this region. We were lucky to arrive when farmers were busy picking saffron and witnessed the painstaking process of producing "Red Gold"!
