Traditions on al-Mahdi a.s
Out of the controversial narrations we can refer to the various traditions cited in the books widely known among the Sunnis, dealing with al-Mahdi the Awaited, stating that he will reappear at the end of time to fill the world with justice as it was filled with oppression.
‘Shi’a’ and Imamate
The term ‘Shi’a’ means ‘follower’, and now refers, conventionally, to the group of Muslims who, after the death of the Holy Prophet, believed that the function of leadership in the Islamic community was the prerogative of ‘Ali and his successors, regarded as ma’sum.

Al-Ḥasan ibn Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib (Arabic: الحسن ابن علي ابن أبي طالب, 624–670 CE), is the eldest son of Prophet Muhammad's daughter Hazrat Fatimah and of Imam Ali, and the older brother to Imam Husayn. Muslims respect him as a grandson of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. Among Shia Muslims, Imam Hasan is the 2nd Imam.

Hadiths of Imam Sajjad(AS) / Imama Mahdi
Ali ibn Husayn (Arabic: علي بن الحسين) known as Zayn al-Abidin (the adornment of the worshippers) and Imam al-Sajjad (The Prostrating Imam), was the fourth Shia Imam, after his father Imam Husayn, his uncle Imam Hasan, and his grandfather Ali. Ali ibn Husayn survived the Battle of Karbala and was taken to the caliph in Damascus. Eventually, he was allowed to return to Medina, where he led a secluded life with a few intimate companions. Imam Sajjad's life and statements were entirely devoted to asceticism and religious teachings, mostly in the form of invocations and supplications. His famous supplications are known as Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya.
Occultation of Imam Mahdi(AJ)
Imam Hassan [pbuh], said:” My dear aunt! Please take Mahdi to his mother. So that she may feed his son. Then do come back here again along with my son. Give Mahdi to his mother and make her happy! For truly God’s Promise is constant and firm! ”
