Shushtar _ Dezful in Khuzestan - Iran

Cities of Dezful and Shushtar in Khuzestan province are famous for their water sources and rivers that are flowing through these cities. Underground water canals, water mills, famous and old bridges in addition to some other structures were all built around the water sources of these two cities. Apart from bazaar, fortress and historical houses I can say that everything else in these cities is somehow related to water and water sources of these regions.

Shushtar Watermills

Shushtar Historical Hydraulic System is an island city from the Sassanid era with a complex irrigation system. Located in Iran's Khuzestan Province. It was registered on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 2009 and is Iran's 10th cultural heritage site to be registered on the United Nations' list.
