Iran Urges Stoppage of violence in Afghanistan

Iran has strongly denounced Thursday's assassination of three senior officials in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, urging the conflicting sides to cease violence on the eve of parliamentary polls that have been delayed in the province by a week as a result of the assassinations.

Afghans Preparing for Parliamentary Elections

Afghanistan is all set to go to parliamentary polls on Oct. 20 as candidates rolled back their campaign posters on Thursday in line with the electoral rules in the mountainous country marred by decades of conflict.
