Quran, Hadith and Knowledge
The Quran, repeatedly calls on the believers to seek knowledge, "And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: behold, in that are signs indeed for those who reflect." (45: 13)
Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ Text and Translation
Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ (Arabic: سورة الإخلاص, "Fidelity" or "Sincerity"), also known as Sūrat al-Tawḥīd (Arabic: سورة التوحيد, "Monotheism") is the 112th sūra of the Qur'an. In the early years of Islam, the surah of the Quran came to be known by several different names, sometimes varying by region. This sūra was among those to receive many different titles. It is a short declaration of tawhid, God's absolute oneness, consisting of four ayat. Al-Ikhlas means "the purity" or "the refining".
Surah Al-Fatihah Text and Translation
Sūrat al-Fātiḥah (Arabic: سُورَةُ الْفَاتِحَة) is the first chapter (surah) of the Quran. Its seven verses (ayat) are a prayer for the guidance, lordship and mercy of God.
What are the different names Allah gives to the Quran?
Allah the Exalted has mentioned many attributes to His book within the book itself, and each of those attributes tells us something unique about the Quran, helping us know it better. The more you know about a person’s attributes, the better you know them and the more your love for them increases. Is the Quran any different? Quran will come to you in the guise of a person and will intercede on behalf of you on the Day of Judgment.
STARS THAT HIDE AND MOVE SWIFTLY
Allah, the Almighty, says: I swear by the stars that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). And by the (cleaning) stars that move swiftly and hide themselves (I)
Surah Hud
This Surah was revealed in Makkah and has a total of 123 ayaat (verses). Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) has said that whoever recites this Surah every Friday, his accounts will on the Day of Judgement, be taken together with that of the Prophets and all his sins will be forgiven.
Surah Ali-’Imran (The Family of Imran)
In this Surah, there are a total of 200 verses and it was revealed in Madinah. The Holy Prophet (S) has said that whoever recites Surah Ali-’Imran on Friday, then until the setting of the sun, he will be showered by the Mercy of Allah (S.w.T.) and the angels will beg for his forgiveness.
Surah al-Baqarah (The Cow)
This Surah has 286 verses and is a ‘madani’ Surah ie. it was revealed in Madinah. It is also the longest Surah in the Holy Qur’an.
Surah al-Fatihah (The Opening)
There are seven verses in this Surah (chapter) and it is said that this Surah is both ‘makki’ and ‘madani’ ie. it was revealed in both Makkah and Madinah.
The Verse “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim”
If we were to give an exhaustive account of the benefits of the recitation of “Bismillah…” we would need more than a single volume to do justice to it. Apart from being part of every chapter in the Holy Qur’an (except the chapter of repentance [Surah at-tawba]), it is also the most oft repeated verse in the Holy Qur’an.
