Tombs of Hafez and Saa’di

The Tomb of Hafez and its associated memorial hall, the Hāfezieh (حافظیه), are two memorial structures erected in the northern edge of Shiraz, Iran, in memory of the celebrated Persian poet Hafez. The Tomb of Saadi is a tomb and mausoleum dedicated to the Persian poet Saadi in the Iranian city of Shiraz. Saadi was buried at the end of his life at a Khanqah at the current location.

Persian poetry is a particular point of pride for Iranians, and two of the most well loved and revered poets in the history of Iran are Hafez and Saa’di. Iranians from all over the country travel to Shiraz to pay respects and offer prayers at the tombs of these great masters.
