He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that his coalition seeks to form an alliance accompanied by Sa'iroon, Nasr, national wisdom movement and Fatah, which recorded an electoral presence as a broad basis to open to the national space with all Sunni and Kurdish forces."
Maliki said that "the five forces can meet on the basis of non-dependence on any of the parties in preparation for the formation of a preparatory committee for a comprehensive alliance open to all political forces Sunni and Kurdish."
"Those who believe in the majority will be considered partners and those who do not believe in it can go to the opposition in accordance with democratic mechanisms," he said.
Maliki stressed on "the importance of correcting the course of the electoral process and the ratification of the election results before talking about alliances."
He expressed fears of entering the country with a constitutional vacuum after June 30, which ends the work of the current parliament.
It is mentioned that Sa'iroon coalition led by Muqtada al-Sadr and Fatah led by Hadi al-Amiri announced late Tuesday their alliance, and ensured that the door remains open to the winners of the elections.
Article 56 of the Constitution stipulates that the term of the electoral session of the Parliament shall be four calendar years, beginning with the first session and ending at the end of the fourth year.
