In a written statement, the Turkish General Staff said two soldiers were also wounded in the attack.
The Turkish Armed Forces will “continue its fight against all terror organizations until the last terrorist is neutralized,” the statement added.
Turkish jets have destroyed four PKK targets in northern Iraq, the military said.
In a message posted on its official Twitter account, the Turkish General Staff said the airstrikes were carried out on May 21 in northern Iraq’s Hakurk region.
In a statement, the Tunceli Governor’s Office said Fuat Akkaya, codenamed Fuat Fikri, was identified among five militants killed during operations conducted in the Ovacık district in eastern Tunceli province on May 18.
Zeynal Küçük, codenamed Sevger, was the other PKK militant on the wanted list killed in Tunceli.
Akkaya and Küçük were mentioned in the grey category of the Interior Ministry’s list of wanted militants.
The wanted list is divided into five color-coded categories, with red as the most wanted, followed by blue, green, orange and grey.
