Iraqi Kurdistan MPs to Review Turkish Violations

The deputies of various blocs in the parliament of Iraq's Kurdistan called on the Presidency of the Parliament to hold a meeting on the violations and incursions by Turkey into the territory of the region.

Shirko Jawdat MP from the Islamic Union bloc in the Iraq's Kurdistan Parliament said in a press statement that a large number of members of the Kurdistan Parliament have sent a memorandum to the Presidency of the parliament on the Turkish incursion deep in the territory of the region, adding that these deputies stressed during the note on the need to hold a parliamentary session and dedicate it to discuss the risks of the Turkish army, which threatens the Kurdistan region under the pretext of prosecution and pursuit of PKK militants, noting plans by Kurdish political parties aim to weaken the role of legislative institutions in the region.

He pointed out that his bloc strongly condemns the violation of the sovereignty of the Kurdistan region of Iraq by neighboring countries, noting that the Kurdistan Islamic Union supports the solution of the problems between the PKK and the Turkish government through dialogue and negotiation away from violence and military confrontations.
