Being known as one of the most beautiful landscapes in Qeshm Island, Stars Valley has been gradually carved out through wind erosion and rainstorms since nearly 2 million years ago.
While still changing after every sudden heavy rainfall, which is very rare, Stars Valley carries a peculiar geo-morphological structure. Bulks of needle-shaped columns, vertical rims, and several erosion-made holes have added to the beauty of Stars Valley.
Due to the specific shape and arrangement of the pillars, wind flow is audible through the valley. This makes locals believe in ghosts passing through the valley.
Most visitors to Stars Valley come to see the magnificent formations during sunrise or sunset. But staying overnight, they discover the amazing beauty of the stars over Stars Valley.
Although some full-moon nights may not be the best for astronomers, they are still fabulous for photographers to capture the moon high above the valley.
Despite being located out of the Qeshm geo-park area, Stars Valley is approved by UNESCO as one of the main geo-park sites.
Therefore, before you embark on this self-guided tour, bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. It is not advisable to hike in the summertime, however. To avoid the stifling heat, consider visiting in October through April.
