A statement by the Security Media Center said “the intelligence department and the counter-terrorism forces of the Interior Ministry managed to arrest two Daesh (ISIS) terrorists in two operations carried out in Diyala.”
One of them, according to the statement, “admitted to intentions of carrying out operations using bombs.”
Legal measures were taken against them, it added.
In December, the Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced gaining control on all the territories that were captured by Daesh (ISIS) terrorists , since 2014.
A total of 76 people were killed and 129 others were injured due to acts of terrorism, violence and conflicts during the month of June, casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
