On Friday, more than 30 Iraqi protesters have suffocated during demonstrations at the Tahrir Square in the capital Baghdad.
Security forces blocked most of the roads leading to Tahrir Square in central Baghdad after the number of protesters had increased.
Activists called for holding protest at Baghdad's Tahrir Square in order to support the demands of the southern provinces.
A number of Iraqi cities and provinces, including Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Babil, Diwaniyah, Wassit, Najaf, Muthanna and Karbala, Amarah, Kut, Nasiriyah and Babil are witnessing mass demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against shortage of jobs, electricity, water and basic services.
Some demonstrators broke into and attacked several local government headquarters in these provinces during the current period.
This is while, protests in Baghdad, Dhi Qar and Al Diwaniyah cities turned into conflicts between protestors and security forces.
In Baghdad, 30 protestors and security forces were injured.
Dhi Qar conflicts resulted in injuring 4 protestors and 6 security forces.
Al Diwaniyah protests claimed the life of one who attempted to break into a military base.
