Mohammad Muha-yi, the spokesman of Iraqi Hezbollah, told al-Mayadeen TV that the group will hold the United States responsible for any Israeli attacks on the Iraqi soil.
The Commander of United States Central Command for Middle East, General Joseph Votel, announced that NATO will build a military base, in Iraq this year.
The US military also is building a new permanent base in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region as part of attempts to perpetuate its occupation of the conflict-ridden Arab country indefinitely, regardless of all opposition from religious figures and people from all walks of life.
America will play a “behind-the-scenes role if such an attack happens,” Mohammad Muha-yi added. He also called on the Baghdad government to retaliate against any potential “Israeli aggression” in Iraq.
The militia commander’s remarks came after Kuwaiti outlet al-Jarida reported that Israel has prepared a list of military posts and border crossings inside Iraq which, according to the Israeli government, are used by Iran to transfer weapons and combatants to Syria.
On Monday, Israeli jets reportedly hit a production facility in northwest Syria.
Kata'ib Hezbollah, or the Hezbollah Brigades, is militia group that operates both in Iraq and Syria. The group is a unit within Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (P.M.F.).
The U.S. Departments of Treasury and State designated Kata'ib Hezbollah as a terrorist entity for its positons and acts against Coalition forces and us invasion on Iraq.
