Sheikh Madani Reveals Falsity of Some Hadiths

Sheikh Muhammad Hashim al-Madani reveals falsity of some Hadiths which call for obeying the ruler even if he was a “Satan”.

In an interview with al-Kawthar TV, Sheikh al-Madani referred to a hadith from Sahih Muslim where he said such hadiths made the sedition team follow Muawiya and Yazid and not Imam Hussein (PBUH).

Madani said Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman narrated that “The Prophet [Muhammad] (PBUH) said: ‘There will be rulers after me, who don’t follow my guidance and my Sunnah, and there will amongst them men whose hearts will be hearts of devils in the bodies of men’. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what should I do if I live to see that time?’ The Prophet said: ‘You should listen and obey the Amir, even if he strikes your back and takes your money, even still listen and obey.”

Sheikh Madani refuted that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had said such hadith, saying “God forbid”. He also stressed that it is “an absolute lie” as at the beginning, the saying referred to the ruler as a Satan and then it urged people to listen and obey this Amir, and “not just to listen and obey him when he is away from you, but even if his oppression reached to the extent that he strikes your back and [illegally] takes your money.”

Madani stressed that this hadith, which dates back to the time before the appearance of Yazid and Muawiya, exists in all books and they consider it as Sahih or authenticated, noting there are scores of hadiths with the same meaning.

Such hadiths are what made such team or the Wahhabism Takfiri ideology considers Yazid and Muawiya Imams and claim that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said listen and obey such ruler, the cleric said.

He also noted that the Wahhabis claim that Yazid and Muawiya are among the 12 Imams whom the prophet (PBUH) recommended.

Madani noted that “such hadiths made this team believes that Yazid is imam and Imam Hussein (PBUH) not an Imam, but even did wrong when he did not obey the imam and caused sedition” as that team thinks that the Muslim Unity is being united behind the ruler and not the unity which is for the sake of obeying Allah.

Quoting a Quranic verse as saying “Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me,” Madani stressed that being unified behind the devil ruler contradicts the Quran and that the holy book doesn’t accept such unity, but accept a unity for the sake of God.
