Israel Nabs Journalists to Silence Palestinian Voice : Hamas

"The ongoing arrests of Palestinian journalists reflect the extent of oppression inflicted by the Israeli Occupation on Palestinian civilians and journalists," the member of Hamas Political Bureau Musa Dodeen said.

In a press release on Monday, Dodeen confirmed that the detention of four Al-Quds Channel journalists by the Israeli Occupation comes as part of its desperate attempt to silence the Palestinian journalists and activists who disclose the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and reinforce the Palestinian narrative.

Dodeen considered the abduction of the Palestinian journalist Lama Khater last week and detaining the head of Al-Quds TV Channel Alaa al-Rimawi, along with three other journalists, as a deliberate targeting of the Palestinian media’s role in exposing the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people.

He stressed that the arbitrary Israeli policies targeting the Palestinian journalists will not deter them from conveying the Palestinians’ message to the outside world and exposing the ugly truth of the Israeli Occupation.

The Hamas’ leader called on all Palestinian journalists to continue exposing the Israeli Occupation's crimes and violations.

Dodeen urged the human right groups and international institutions to assume its role in defending the Palestinian journalists and their right to freedom of speech.
