Yemen's ballistic missiles, which have reached strategic economic and military targets deep inside Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, remain a source of great concern to the United States and its allies, who have waged a savage aggression on Yemen three and a half years ago.

According to Radio Sawa, Washington has invited Gulf countries to hold an extraordinary Gulf-US summit.

US Ambassador to Kuwait Lawrence R. Silverman said that Washington is seeking to urge all Gulf countries to participate in the next US-Gulf summit, without specifying a date.

Silverman, in remarks broadcast by Radio Sawa, described the upcoming summit as "very important."

"There are a lot of issues that must be discussed together, such as combating terrorism, protecting countries from ballistic missiles and economic and oil cooperation," he said.

"We have held three Gulf Arab summits in recent years, in order to maximize cooperation between the United States and the Gulf states, and within the PGCC itself," he added.

The last Gulf Arab summit was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in May 2017. It was attended by President Donald Trump. Only a month later, on June 5, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, as well as Egypt, cut ties with Qatar, claiming its support for terrorism,which is denied by Doha.

According to US sources, spoke earlier to Reuters, Trump administration decided to postpone the summit, which was planned to be held in May, to September.

The Associated has already revealed that the United States had agreed to hold the Camp David meeting between the leaders of the Gulf states, on several conditions, most notably, ending the air embargo on Qatar.

Trump administration is trying to resolve the crisis,after succeeding in making wholesale gains through economic and military agreements and increasing its influence in the region.
