US Pushing Ukraine to Stop Selling Jet Engines to China

The Washington Times reported that Ukraine has sold China fighter aircraft engines, which is contrary to the interests of the United States.

The Ukrainian company, Motor Sich, supplied 20 engines for 12 JL-10 combat training aircraft in a contract to supply 250 aircraft engines to China worth 380 million dollars.

The expert noted in Chinese affairs, former adviser to the Committee on International Relations of the US Senate, William Treblet, that Kiev helped Chinese companies to solve the problem of production of jet engines.

"On the one hand, the Ukrainians are taking US money as aid, and on the other hand they are paying a treacherous blow in the back of the US's naval fleet," he said.

US expert, Rick Fisher, said that Washington is exerting strong pressure on Kiev to prevent the supply of engines. Last year, information emerged that Ukraine sold North Korea missile technologies.

The Ukrainian authorities issued several contradictory statements. At first these reports were denied and the production of these rocket engines were denied in Ukrainian factories. Later, Kiev predicted that the technology could be transferred to North Korea through a third country.

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary, Alexander Turchinov, described the report as provocative and said the information was "baseless".
