Leaders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the National Union Party met Sunday for talks over the formation of the parliament's largest bloc, well-informed sources said.

The meeting was held in Erbil to discuss the latest political situation in the region, and talks on the formation of the Iraqi government.

The sources explained that the two sides also discussed the latest developments in the negotiations to enter into a larger bloc alliance.

Besides, Sairoun, Victory and Al-Wataniya coalitions, as well as Wisdom Movement and Iraqi Forces Union have agreed on most of the main points to form Parliament's largest bloc, political sources said.

Iraq's Kurdish parties are in harmony with this alliance, which its members would be more than 225 MPs.

In addition, other influential blocs and MPs would join the alliance, including Bayaruq al-Keir (Goodness Banners) led by Khaled al-Obaidi and the New Generation Movement, as well as Berham Saleh bloc and Turkmen MPs.

Some blocs in Fatah are leaning towards reaching an understanding with the alliance, after failing to reach one with State of Law coalition.
