In a statement on the World Humanitarian Day, Hamas praised the efforts and sacrifices made by Palestinian humanitarian crews, especially health personnel, to serve the Palestinian people in besieged Gaza.
The movement condemned the Israeli violations and crimes committed against Palestinian humanitarian personnel, which include bombing their vehicles and offices and preventing them from performing their duties.
It also called for facilitating the tasks of humanitarian staff in Gaza and providing whatever is necessary to ensure their safety.
Since the start of the Great March of Return on 30th March, three Palestinian paramedics have been killed and over 370 injured after being attacked by Israeli gas and gunfire during their humanitarian work near Gaza border.
World Humanitarian Day is celebrated annually on 19th August to recognize those who risk their lives working for humanitarian causes, and to mobilize support for the people affected by humanitarian crises around the world.
