In Ayah 96 of Surah Al-A’araaf, Allah (SWT) said: “If the people of the towns had but believed and adopted piety, (all kinds of) blessings from the sky and the earth should indeed have opened out to them by Allah (SWT). But they rejected the truth, and God brought them to book for their misdeeds.” As is mentioned in the first part of this Ayah, one of the main elements in the order of creation is that human beings behaviours are being observed and suitable reactions will be shown to them accordingly in this world and in the hereafter. One of the consequences of committing sins repeatedly is to destroy the previous good deeds, and this has been mentioned 16 times in the holy Quran. Great sins like, disbelief (Kofr), polytheism (Shirk), rejecting Divine Signs, denying the hereafter, etc. These all destroy good deeds, and lead to bad consequences in this world and in the hereafter such as, cruelty of the heart, to be deprived from blessings, non-acceptance of Duas, general poverty, short life, sorrow and grief, etc.
