Israeli Forces Raid Homes, Kidnap Citizens in W. Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) last night and at dawn Thursday raided homes and kidnapped several Palestinian citizens during campaigns in different West Bank areas.

The Israeli army claimed in a statement that its forces arrested 16 Palestinians in overnight campaigns in the West Bank.

Local sources in Qalqilya told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the IOF kidnapped three Palestinian young men from their homes in the city.

The IOF also detained and interrogated several young men for some hours last night on the bridge between Jayyous and Azzun towns, without making arrests.

In Tulkarem, another four young men were taken prisoners during an IOF campaign in Nur Shams refugee camp.

In Tubas, the IOF kidnapped Sheikh Wasim Sawafta after ransacking his home as well as another house belonging to a citizen from the same family.

Two young men identified as Mohamed Hashash and Mohamed Kamal from Balata refugee camp were also rounded up by Israeli soldiers on a road near the illegal settlement of Elon Moreh, east of Nablus, according to their families.

The IOF also detained a young man called Shamekh Hashash, a resident of Balata camp, who he turned himself in at Huwara checkpoint after soldiers stormed and ransacked his home two days ago and later threatened to arrest his parents.
