Hamas Rejects Abbas

Hamas, on Monday, rejected Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's acceptance of the idea of a confederation with Jordan, considering that as a violation of national rights and a basis for Jordanian-Palestinian relations.

According to Haaretz, reported, on Monday, that the US proposal, which was presented to the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, recently, to establish a confederation between the West Bank and Jordan, is mainly an Israeli proposal.

It is not clear whether the West Bank will receive Israeli recognition first, and then declare a confederation, like a Jordanian-Palestinian, or that the confederation between the West Bank leadership and the Jordanian government will be signed without recognition of the state of Palestine, according to the newspaper.
