Teenage Girl to Represent Iran in UAE Int’l Quran Contest

Zahra Khalili Samarin will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in an upcoming international Quran competition in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Quran Reciters and the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, the 13-year-old has been selected to compete for Iran in the international Quranic event.

Born in 2005, Zahra is a memorizer of the entire Quran. She will be accompanied by her mother in the trip to Dubai.

The 3rd edition of the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition is slated to be held in Dubai on November 4-16.

Last year, 76 Quran memorizers from different countries of the world participated in the second edition.

Iran was represented in the 2017 competition by ten-year-old Zahra Sadat Hosseini.
