Speaking on Al-Kawthar program “Islamic Fiqh”, Muhammad Qasir said the followers of Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, the founder of the Wahhabism Takfiri ideology, have been spreading the Takfiri ideology for 220 years and declaring Sunni Muslims and other Muslims as infidels.

He stressed that the Muslim nation does not trust them.

Referring to the issue of Hilal sighting, the cleric said an astronomer in Saudi Arabia had admitted that they made mistakes 37 times,announcing the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and Shawwal on the wrong day. Accordingly they declared Eid al-Fitr, which marks the start of the month of Shawwal, while it had not started and declared the start of the fasting month of Ramadan while Sha'ban had not ended yet, Qasir added.

The cleric noted that he himself raised that issue 15 years ago when he said there were mistakes in sighting the Hilal by the Shariah Board of Saudi Arabia, adding that he frequently advised them.

“I don’t trust them” in sighting the hilal, the cleric said, adding I don’t trust “the scholars of the sultan”. 

The Wahhabi scholars who issued fatwa for Al Saud (the House of Saud), the ruling royal family of Saudi Arabia, 220 years ago to kill the people and violate their blood and money, commit crimes and destroy the Holy Places, are not real scholars, he added.
