The relations between Iranian and Armenian people are historical and cultural, Michael Melkumian said in a meeting with Iranian Lawmaker Nour-Mohammad Torbatinejad.

Torbatinejad heads the Iranian parliamentary delegation, attending the World Parliamentary Assembly in Bali, Indonesia.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament called for promotion of cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan in various fields, including trade, energy, agriculture and industry.

In the meantime, the Iranian MP for his part hoped that by amending the customs tariffs, trade exchanges between Iran and Armenia will be promoted.
