Iranian Film to be Screened in Vancouver Film Festival

The Iranian short film, 'My clayey conception', will be screened in the 37th Vancouver International Film Festival.

The film was produced in West Azarbaijan Province of Iran which is well-known for producing award-winning short films.

In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday, Ehsan Mahdian Director of the West Azarbaijan Youth Cinema Society said the three-and-a-half minute film has earlier competed against other films from around the world at Newark International Film Festival (Northeastern United States) and Anyang International Film Festival (South Korea).

Mahdian said the film sends the message of criticizing war and is dedicated to the victims of Sardasht chemical attack and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima; two disastrous bombardments which took place in northwestern Iran in June 28 and 29, 1987 and Japan in August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively.

'My clayey conception' which is directed by Zanyar Muhammadineko is about the diaries of a potter.

The Vancouver International Film Festival is an annual event held in Vancouver for two weeks from September 27 to October 12.
