Tehran Calls On Europe to Keep Iran

Iran is constantly in touch with Europe and is looking for some mechanisms which help Iran-Europe continue their economic relations, said the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his weekly press conference on Monday.

'Iran and Europe are constantly in touch and we think we are relatively in the right path,' said Bahram Qasemi.

'The previous plans were either not practical or didn’t have the required guarantees. Some alternative plans were proposed and now we are looking for mechanisms that help the economic collaborations between Iran and Europe,' he added.

Qasemi hoped that foreign ministers of Iran and the 4+1 (Britain, Russia, France and China plus Germany) will have a meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York to discuss ways to enter new phases.

The 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 73) will open on 18 September 2018. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, 25 September 2018, and is scheduled to last for nine working days.
