Iraqi Facilities at Service of Iranian Arbaeen Pilgrims

Iraqi Deputy Interior Minister said on Monday that all the facilities of the government will serve the pilgrims of Arbaeen and the few problems of the last year are resolved.

General Mohammad-Badr added at the first meeting of the Joint Iran-Iraq Arbaeen Committee an the Iraqi Ministry of Interior on Monday that with the emphasis of Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief Heydar al-Abadi, all facilities and components of the government will serve the pilgrims.

He said the mission of the committee is making security coordination between the two sides, using the experience of past years and strengthening facilitation of the movement of pilgrims from origin to destination and vice versa, while providing services and security.

The Iranian delegation, headed by General Mustafa Moradian, a military attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad and representatives of the relevant ministries and departments in Iraq were present in the meeting.

General Badr added, 'Fortunately, thanks to mutual cooperation, the last year Arbaeen was held under very good conditions and complete security for more than 13 million pilgrims of Imam Hussein (AS) was provided'.

At the same time, he pointed to some problems in facilitating and serving the pilgrims last year and said, 'This year we are trying to provide the best services, facilities and security to the pilgrims.'

The Deputy Iraqi Minister of the Interior added, 'On the air, sea and land boundaries, we have provided the conditions necessary for the pilgrims' mobility and facilitating their services', and added the number of staff and visa officers, passports and customs increased to provide best sevices.'
