The Alam and Zuljinah procession was taken out from Khitianwala Bazaar at 2:00 p.m.
The Mourners after passing through its traditional routes of Pholownwala Chowk, Chowk Rail Bazaar, Chowk Bazaar and Mohalla Dabkaranwala concluded at Zahoor Shah Street before Maghrib prayers.
Strict security arrangements were made by law enforcing agencies.
Several other processions were also taken out today and all of them concluded peacefully.
Meanwhile, the police have issued a security plan for 7th Muharram-ul-Haraam processions and Majalis to be held on Tuesday.
As many as 131 Majalis including 4 of A-category, 6 B-category will be held in various parts of the district while 93 processions including 4 A-category, 11 B-category and 78 C-category will be taken out.
According to details, 40 majalis will be held in Iqbal division, 35 in Jarranwala, 27 in Saddar, 18 in Madina and 11 in Lyallpur divisions.
Similarly, 30 processions in Jarranwala, 15 in Madina, 12 in Lyallpur, 19 in Iqbal and 17 in Saddar division will be taken out.
Over 2500 police cops, 271 ASIs, 87 SIs and 21 Inspectors will provide security cover to aforementioned Majalis and processions.
Thirteen DSPs and 4 SPs will supervise the security duty.
Ten teams of Pakistani elite forces and 15 Quick Response Forces will remain on patrolling.
