According to the Palestinian Safa Press, the official of public relations and information in the Department of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, Firas Debs, said that "the Israeli police turned the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque into a military barracks, through the deployment of its own forces and the detention of personal identities of some worshipers."
He explained that "more than 190 settlers stormed the mosque since the morning on several groups in a row, and organized provocative rounds in his courtyards with a tight police protection, while receiving explanations about the alleged structure."
The settlers also performed Talmudic rituals during their storming of the Aqsa Mosque, and others prayed at Bab Hatta, one of the gates of al-Aqsa from the outside.
He added that the members of the special forces and the Israeli intelligence are filming everyone who is inside the mosque, indicating that a state of extreme tension prevail in the courtyards of the mosque in light of the continued settlers in the confiscation of his sanctity.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is exposed daily (except Friday and Saturday) to a series of violations and intrusions by settlers and extremist Jewish groups, and in the morning and evening, while the preparation of the intruders is doubled during the Jewish holidays.
The authorities of Israeli regime escalate their actions against worshipers and Waqf employees by pursuing them, arresting and interrogating them, as well as deporting them from al-Aqsa, as well as threatening to withdraw their residences if they continue to defend the mosque and confront them with extremist intrusions.
