Zarif said in a statement quoted by the New York Times that "this agreement is to find a special mechanism to pay with Iran and will ensure the achievement of the goal of selling Iranian oil and receipt of revenues."
The New York News Agency quoted the Iranian foreign minister in New York as saying that "if the EU's special mechanism to preserve the nuclear deal was not effective, Iran could emerge from it."
"If the special mechanism established by the Europeans is ineffective, Iran may withdraw from this agreement," the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted him as saying on Sunday.
Zarif added that Iran plans to deal with other currencies, replacing the dollar, in the sale of oil and international trade to counter US oil sanctions. Asked if Iran's withdrawal from the nuclear deal would open the way for a military attack on Iran, Zarif said: "I think if America thinks it can succeed in such an attack on Iran, we will do it."
