"Junk Girl" Wins Best Animation Award at Italian Festival

The Iranian short animation "Junk girl" directed by Mohammad Zar’e and Shalaleh Kheiri has won the Best Animation Film Award at Italy's Innuendo International Film Festival.

The animation made in 2014 is an adaptation of Tim Burton's “The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy”. It is among Iran's most decorated animations that has bagged more than 40 awards in national and international festivals.
"Junk girl" is about a lonely and unusual girl who is mistreated and forced to leave her city because of her odd and freakish appearance.

The second edition of Italy's Innuendo International Film Festival was held 8-16 September 2018 in the Italian metropolis Milan.
