"Frankly, I tell you that President (Donald) Trump is in the Oval Office, but China wants a different US president," the US vice president said in a speech at Washington's conservative think tank.
"China is making unprecedented efforts to influence American public opinion in 2018 and the 2020 elections," Pens continued.
"China is trying to influence business to condemn Trump's decision to raise tariffs on Chinese goods," he said. The comments come amid an economic war between the two countries.
