He added: “The Scopus citation database indexes magazines in 58 different languages in the world by observing a set of rules and regulations. Publishing percentages in different languages show that nearly 89.4 percent of the indexed publications in the database have been in English from 1997 to 2017.
Dehghani explained: “The remaining 10 percent are in Chinese, German, French, and Spanish, raking second to fifth respectively. Persian has ranked 15th in 2016 and 2017 among the 58 languages in which their journals are indexed in Scopus. Over the past two decades, it has totaled 22nd in terms of articles indexed.
The Head of the Islamic World Science Citation Database said that, based on data extracted from Scimago's database, 171 magazines have been registered in Iran and their articles have been indexed in various subjects in Persian and English by Scopus. Of these, about 67 are published in Persian in various scientific fields.
