Islamic Unity ‘Existential Necessity’ amid Enemy’s Plots

Abdel Salam Muhammad Abdullah, an Egyptian cleric, has stressed the importance of Islamic unity in order to confront the challenges facing the Muslim nation.

Speaking on Al-Kawthar program “One Nation”, Abdel Salam said Muslims have to unite in the face of the current challenges.

Referring to the current challenges that face the Islamic world, the cleric said unity is an Islamic obligation and an existential necessity.

He stressed that the Muslim nation is competent to unite - more than other nations - and to exchange interests.

The cleric quoted the Quranic verse that says “O people! We created you from a male and a female, and made you races and tribes, that you may know one another,” noting that the Quran did not say “that you may fight” and said “that you may know one another” as the Holy Quran contains science and human rights and respects and honors the mind, and as the Holy Quran includes everything that helps us to create a sophisticated civilization.

Abdel Salam noted that Allah -in the Quranic verse- addressed all the human beings -- saying “O people” -- and not only the Muslim nation, stressing that unity among Muslims will be so useful for them.

He added that the Muslim nation is spread on a distinguished geographical position and is blessed with wealth and natural resources, stressing that this nation could be a developed and civilized one, if the Muslim people relied on the Holy Quran as “our pious predecessors relied upon when they set up their first civilization”.
