1,600 Foreign Reporters Visiting Iraq for Arbaeen

Some 1,600 reporters and documentary producers from 32 different countries and 120 international media institutes are on visit to Iraq to cover Arbaeen rituals, according to an official with Arbaeen Committee.

Mohammad-Ali Anooshe, the Director of Cyber Space and Information Dissemination Affairs of Arbaeen Committee, told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) correspondent in Karbala on Friday that the reporters and program producers are deployed in 15 routes to Karbala.

Arbaeen is a mourning day in which Shia Muslims mark the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hossein (AS), the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims go to the holy shrine of Imam Hossein (AS) in Karbala on foot to mark Arbaeen.

Anooshe said that eight press centers and studios have been set up on the routes for the reporters so that they can send news, videos, photos and reports to all across the world.
