Culture’s Impact on Human Behavior

The Bahraini cleric, Murtada al-Sanadi, says the human behavior is affected by the cultural background, stressing that true Islamic culture should be promoted in order to rein in violence and spread good attributes.

Speaking on Al-Kawthar program “One Nation”, Murtada al-Sanadi said the person’s behavior stems from his cultural background.

He stressed that we reap what we sow, noting that the culture of hatred will lead to hatred and killing, while the culture of love will create love.

Thus, some peoples have certain characteristics, the cleric said.

He added that the Iraqi people – for example - are known to be generous, stressing that their generosity are due to customs and traditions that are compatible with the Islamic culture.

Sanadi further said that the Egyptians are hospitable, noting that the roots of such good cultures are Islamic as Islam teaches us to be hospitable and generous to the guest.

He noted that such good cultures do not exist among the nations that distanced themselves from Islam and were affected by cultures far from Islam, adding that the peoples of some countries are not hospitable to the guests and that other people are known for their stinginess.

The cleric emphasized that if we managed to promote the Islamic culture, which comes from the Holy Quran and the Sunna of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we could highlight the true Islam and Islam’s beauty.
