Iran is Safest for Tourism

At a meeting with the Head of Iran’s Tourism Organization, the UNWTO Secretary General said: “Iran is the safest place for tourism.”

Zurab Pololikashvili who has traveled to Iran for the opening of the 41st UNWTO summit for its affiliated members said: “Iran has great potentials for tourism and a hospitable people.”

He also commented on Iran’s tourism attractions and historical sites, saying: “We will make efforts to introduce these potentials to the world. Iran’s beautiful nature can be a very good reason to travel here. The development of ecotourism will definitely contribute to nature tourism in the world.”

The Head of Iran’s Tourism Organization, Ali-Asghar Munesan, also said: “Alongside its cultural and historic sites, ecotourism is an important part of this country’s pristine landscape.”

He also pointed to US threats and sanctions, saying: “The UNWTO can promote awareness for tourists on Iran and its safety with regard to US Iranophobia projects and give them a real image of Iran.”

Munesan continued: “We have witnessed US sanctions for forty years now. But Iran’s security has never suffered. Americana have issues with the economy.”

41st UNWTO summit for its affiliated members will take place in Hamedan, western Iran, on Monday 12 November 2018.
