Wahhabism Tool to Weaken Islamic Nation: Qasir

Sheikh Assad Muhammad Qasir, a professor at Qom Seminary (hawza), has stressed that the extemist Wahhabi ideology is a tool to weaken the Islamic nation.

Speaking on Al-Kawthar Program “Islamic Fiqh”, Qasir said the Wahhabism has been a tool to drain the Islamic nation since its formation 200 years ago.

The cleric noted that the Wahhabis are the followers of Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah, who was a supporter of Umayyad state.

The nation's wealth, blood and sanctuaries have been depleting since then, he said.

Qasir noted that Wahhabism, which is founded by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, has led to the formation of Daesh and other terrorist groups.

The cleric had said that the United Kingdom played a role in the emergence of the Takfiri Wahhabi ideology as it selected the “divisive” ideology of Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah 200 years ago to serve its interest.
