Parade of Classic Automobiles in Two Iranian Cities

Classical cars were paraded on the streets of Tehran and Karaj on Wednesday.

These included cars made by Ford, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, BMW, Fiat, and VW. They are all privately owned. Some of these were as old as 60 years and some are the only models left in the world. The parade was held to introduce this historic industrial heritage.

This is the third parade of its kind since March 2018. Passersby were taken by surprise and some of them accompanied the parade on their motorcycles. Many others began filming with their mobiles.

They set off from Morvarid Palace in Karaj this morning on the Karaj-Azadi road and finished at the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization in Tehran.

Another motorcade of classical cars set off from Sa’d-Abad Palace in northern Tehran and traveled down to the busy city center via the busiest streets and main roundabouts such as Tajrish, Vanak, Vali Asr, Ferdowsi, National Museum, Imam Khomeini St, Hor Roundabout, and Pasteur St to reach the Cultural Heritage Organization.
