Speaking on Al-Kawthar program ‘The Other Side’, the cleric stressed that the entire denomination or the entire religion should not be blamed for individual wrong acts.

He said Al Saud royal family arrogate the leadership of the Islamic community to themselves although there is no more corrupt nor more oppressive people than them, adding that they are far away from Islamic values, even though “we don’t attribute that to Islam”.

Referring to the members of the Daesh terrorist group who commit atrocities and claim to be following Sunni Islam, the cleric said attributing them to Sunni Muslims and blaming Sunni Islam for the acts of those extremists is a mistake and a sin.

He added that Wahhabis claim to be following Sunni Islam, but we reject that claim and say there are a big difference between Sunni Islam and the extremist Wahhabi ideology.

Thus, when some ignorant people who claim to be following Shia Islam and Ahl-ul-bayt (peace be upon all of them) - the household of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) - commit wrong and suspicious acts, Shia Islam should not be blamed for those acts, Ikhwan said.

He noted that such acts serve the interests of the Zionists and the enemies of Islam.

The cleric said the issue of Sahabah, the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the wives of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are among the issues raised by the enemies of Islam and their followers who are seeking to incite sedition among Muslims.

According to the Sunni narrative, all Sahabah are glad tidings of paradise, the cleric said.

He added, according to Shia Islam, whoever obeyed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is right and whoever opposed his approach is wrong, Ikhwan said.

However, Ikhwan added that there is a difference between disagreeing with someone and insulting him, stressing that there were no insulter among Imams, Shia figures or scholars.
