most social scientists believe that these statistics are considered very low , and talk about the population of about half million muslims in france .

the number of non - arab militants who converted to islam are not known . some statistics said that more than 100,000 frenchmen have brought islam in the past few decades . 

some of the muslim communities claimed ten times that number . 

french muslims have a higher population growth rate than non - muslims and their numbers are increasing .
in the muslim population , most people pray , the fast of ramadan , they don 't eat pork , they don 't drink .
