“But it was our will to bestow our favour upon those very people, who were deemed so utterly low in the land, and to make them forerunners in faith, and to make them heirs to Pharaoh’s glory”

Ayatollah Imam Khomeini returns to Iran after a 14 year of exile…..
*On February 1, 1979, Ayatollah Khomeini returns to Iran in triumph after 15 years of exile , the shah and his family had already fled the country two weeks before, and jubilant Iranian revolutionaries were eager to establish an Islamic government under Khomeini’s leadership.

It was crystal clear that the circulation of the news of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran created a wave of excitement and happiness never seen, as such the regime’s agents were more obedient to the orders received from the Refah School rather than those of the prime minister’s office and people were swarming towards the Refah School in order to meet their leader as a result of which this school was transformed to a center for the maneuvers of revolutionary forces against the regime.
Government employees, especially the Air Force personnel, expressed their solidarity with the revolution, surely, it was an indication of the regime’s impending defeat, hence, socially speaking, and people did their best in order to handle their routine affairs without any dependency on the government and governmental organs.
However , it is fair to admit that the regime forces and agents were gradually withdrawing from administrative affairs of the country , and they either joined the revolution or declared their neutrality , while the power vacuum was immediately filled by revolutionary forces and they began to run the routine administrative affairs of the country.
By all accounts, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made considerable advances in all fields of science and technology through education and training, despite international sanctions in almost all aspects of research during the past 42 years , indeed it would be so important to recall that Iran's university population swelled from 100,000 in 1979 to 2 million in 2006, and the growth in Iran's scientific output is reported to be the fastest in the world.
Moreover, Iran has made great strides in different sectors, including aerospace, nuclear science, medical development, as well as stem cell and cloning research, many people mainly Europeans do not know that Iran is the ninth country to put a domestically built satellite (Omid) into orbit using its own launcher and the sixth to send animals in space.
Paradoxically as it may seem the forty two years long sanctions totally failed to stop the country's progress in all different fields and have known but an ill-fated outcome, as such and in spite of these sanctions, Iran's achievements in various fields have raised the world’s eye brows, particularly in the defense and missile industry sectors as well as the nuclear industry and other relevant fields….
