What is the Great News in the Surah An-Naba (The Tidings)?

This Surah, The Tidings, was revealed in Mecca and has 40 verses. The word "Naba" means"tiding" or "the great news". This Surah takes its name from its second verse.

Surat ad Dukhan The Smoke

The sura derives its name from ayat no.10 which warns of a clearly visible smoke descending on the unbelievers. Some commentators believe it refers to the smoke which will envelop the world before the day of Judgement, and which will be especially painful for the unbelievers.

Dua for The Twelfth Imam (A.J)

This is a Du"a for the protection of the 12th Imam al-Mahdi (as). It is recommended that believers recite it often during the ghaybat of the Imam.

Intercession in the Holy Qur’an

There are about 25 verses about intercession in the Holy Qur’an. The word intercession (Shafa’at) and other words derived from it have been repeated 30 times in the Qur’an. The repetition of the words underline the significance of the issue of intercession. These verses may be divided into seven groups.

A.Shaykh al-Kulayniy, in his book of ‘al-Kafe’ has reported on the authority of Abu-Baser that Imam al-Jafar sadiq (A.S) instructed that the following supplication might be said for bidding the month of Ramadhan farewell:
