The Status of Women Before And After Islam (1)
She is equal to man in the pursuit of education and knowledge. When Islam enjoins the seeking of knowledge upon Muslims, it makes no distinction between man and woman.
AL –NABA
The Surah derived its name from the wordan-Naba in the second verse. This is not only a name but also a title of its subject matter, forNaba implies the news of Resurrection and Hereafter and the whole Surah is devoted to the same theme.
AL –MURSALAT ([Winds] Sent Forth)
The Surah takes its name from the word wal-mursalat in the first verse.
AL-QIYAMAH (Resurrection)
Except for the theme of monotheism, the Qur'an speaks more of the coming Qiyamah - also known as the Resurrection, the Day of Judgment, Day of Gathering, and the Great Announcement - than of any other topic.
AL-MUDDATHTHIR (The Man Wearing a Cloak)
The Surah takes its name from the word al- muddaththir in the first verse. This also is only a name, not a title of its subject matter.
AL MUZZAMMIL (Bundled up)
The Surah has been so designated after the wordal-muzzammil occurring in the very first verse. This is only a name and not a title of its subject matter.
Al-Hujurat
The Surah takes its name from verse 4 in which the word hujurat has occurred.
Al-Fath (Victory)
It is derived from the words Inna fatah-na laka fat-han mubina of the very first verse. This is not only a name of the Surah but also its title in view of the subject matter, for it deals with the great victory that Allah granted to the Holy Prophet and the Muslims in the form of the Truce of Hudaibiya.
The Surah of Muhammad
The Surah derives its name from the sentence wa amanu bi-ma nuzzila ala Muhammad-in of verse 2, thereby implying that it is the Surah in which the holy name of Muhammad (upon whom be Allah's peace and blessings) has occurred. Besides, it has another well known name "al-Qital" also, which is derived from the sentence wa dhukira fi-hal-qital of verse 20.
Ahqaaf (The Dunes)
It is derived from the verse 21.
