The Consequence of Wrong Interpretation of the Holy Quran
Imam Sadeq (AS) heard that a man became famous for his piety. One day, Imam (AS) saw that man with a lot of people gathered round him, and then he separated from people and went on his way, but Imam Sadeq (AS) was watching his actions.
Is Bismillah a Part of (Every) Chapter?
Amongst the Shia scholars there exists no difference of opinion in the fact that Bismillah is part of Suratul Hamd and every chapter of the Noble Quran (except Suratul Taubah as shall be mentioned later)(1). Basically, the presence of Bismillah in the beginning of all the chapters in the text of the Quran is itself proof of this issue since we do know that nothing has been added to the text of the Qur`an and the mention of Bismillah, at the start of all chapters, has been prevalent since the time of the Noble Prophet (s.a.w) till today.
Surah Hud
This Surah was revealed in Makkah and has a total of 123 ayaat (verses). Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) has said that whoever recites this Surah every Friday, his accounts will on the Day of Judgement, be taken together with that of the Prophets and all his sins will be forgiven.
Surah Ali-’Imran (The Family of Imran)
In this Surah, there are a total of 200 verses and it was revealed in Madinah. The Holy Prophet (S) has said that whoever recites Surah Ali-’Imran on Friday, then until the setting of the sun, he will be showered by the Mercy of Allah (S.w.T.) and the angels will beg for his forgiveness.
Surah al-Fatihah (The Opening)
There are seven verses in this Surah (chapter) and it is said that this Surah is both ‘makki’ and ‘madani’ ie. it was revealed in both Makkah and Madinah.
The Verse “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim”
If we were to give an exhaustive account of the benefits of the recitation of “Bismillah…” we would need more than a single volume to do justice to it. Apart from being part of every chapter in the Holy Qur’an (except the chapter of repentance [Surah at-tawba]), it is also the most oft repeated verse in the Holy Qur’an.
Thematic Approach to Qur'anic Exegesis
There is no doubt that there are various types of exegesis and different schools founded on their basis. Most often they diverge in approach and the aspect emphasized.
Lessons on Interpretation of the Hamd Surah
There is a class of people who have accomplished this: they have migrated in this way; and attained their goal (although in another sense their migration is continuing), and it had become incumbent upon God to reward them. There are others who have migrated but not yet reached the goal of being “overtaken by death.”
